IMPORTANT NEWS: DUE TO THE PANDEMIC, JP PORCHFEST 2020 WILL LOOK VERY DIFFERENT. UNFORTUNATELY, WE WILL NOT BE PRODUCING OUR NEIGHBORHOOD WIDE EVENT ON JULY 11th.
JP Porchfest, now going into its 7th year in 2020, is a vibrant music and arts festival that takes place on porches (and patios, stoops, driveways, church/community center yards…) all over the neighborhood - and now due to COVID-19 pandemic, we are going virtual for the time being!
Our mission is to bridge the divides of race, class, culture and immigrant status through the power of the arts. We welcome performers of all kinds (music, dance, theater, spoken word, storytelling, circus arts, comedy…) and from anywhere (no need to be or know a JP resident).
NEW PROJECT: Calling all local artists! Submit a video of your work!
Project Yourself will launch in mid-late August with videos projected onto the facade of a building in Jamaica Plain (see attached video of a previous projection project to get an idea of how this will work).
If you are interested in submitting a video for consideration (visual, dance, music, puppetry, poetry, etc), please email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information on the submission process.
This project is thanks to a partnership with JP Centre South Main Streets, Kate Raisz and 42 Degrees North Media!
